Drill Free Dentistry
Yes, it really is possible to repair small cavities in teeth without drills or injections!

Air Abrasion is perfect for nervous patients – there are no needles and no drills - just air! Our Crystal Air machine uses a fine stream of air and harmless aluminium oxide particles (a tasteless substance found in toothpaste), with none of the noise and vibration you get with conventional drills.
What's more, most patients find that an anaesthetic is not necessary - so no injections either.
Conventional drills can often remove more tooth structure than is necessary. Air Abrasion is very precise, targeting only the area where decay is present. In addition it is also extremely versatile, and is employed for the following purposes:-
-preparing a tooth with the beginnings of decay for a filling
-repairing chipped or fractured teeth
-removing stains
-preparing for cosmetic procedures
-fixing broken crowns or bridges
However, Air Abrasion does have its limitations, and is not always suitable for use when decay is found between the teeth or when this decay is deep into the structure of the tooth. But for all the other requirements, Air Abrasion really does take the fear out of dental procedures.
And, by combining this with our Diagnodent Laser Decay detector, cavities can be accurately diagnosed and treated at a much earlier stage than conventional 'drill and fill' type dentistry.

The Diagnodent uses a 'pen' with a laser light tip to examine teeth. Far better than having your teeth 'prodded' with a metal probe!
Sometimes, even larger cavities can be treated using only 'Crystal Air' and without the need for anaesthetic.
