(Bite, muscles and jaw joint)

Nearly a quarter of the population suffer at some time from the way their jaw joint (TMJ), jaw muscles and teeth all operate together. Common symptoms include:-

JVA - Joint Vibration Analysis


JVA is used to check the health of the TMJ (Jaw Joint). This involves wearing a "headset" over your TM Joint and opening and closing your mouth.

The computer records the vibrations coming from within your jaw joint.
By analysing these vibrations any pathology within your joint can be determined extremely accurately









The Jaw Muscles & BioEMG II


Patients suffering from more chronic pains, clenching, grinding and tooth wear often have tense, over-actice jaw muscles.

By placing small sticky sensor pads over the muscles, the BioEMG II allows us to accurately measure the activity and strength of the four main muscle pairs which work the jaw.


Treatment for jaw or muscles problems may be as simple as adjusting the bite or could involve wearing a small appliance (splint) over the biting surfaces of the teeth. This is usually worn at night time.
